Adult Learners of Chelsea

The Adult Learners Institute of Chelsea (ALI) is based in Chelsea, Michigan and provides a selection of quality community-based learning experiences and camaraderie for adults.    ALI is a non-profit Life-Long Learning Institute (LLI) affiliated with the Road Scholar Institute Network, a group of similar organizations.  ALI’s program is conducted in cooperation with Washtenaw Community College.

ALI offers classes within two semesters; Fall and Winter/Spring.  Most classes are two-hour sessions that run from one up to eight weeks, with no exams or grades.   Program participants select courses from rich and varied offerings, such as art, literature, travel, history, nature, music, science, gardening, food and more.   Many courses are taught by professors from Washtenaw Community College; others by qualified persons throughout the community.

The ALI program is served almost exclusively by its many volunteers who participate in the courses.
