The Manchester Lions Club meets on the 4th Wednesday of the Month at the Manchester Area Historical Society (the KJ House), 302 E. Main St, Manchester, at NOON.
Lions Clubs International was founded in 1917, and at the International Convention in Cedar Point, OH, Helen Keller challenged the Lions to become “Knights of the Blind in the crusade against darkness”. Since then, every Lions’ Club mission has been the preservation of sight and the elimination of blindness, but every club is different and responds to their community needs in whichever way they can, helping seniors, students and everyone in between. Lions Clubs recycle used eyeglasses and hearing aids and provide vision services for those who cannot afford them.
