Monitor Base Ball Club of Chelsea MI

Physical Activity

The Monitor Base Ball Club of Chelsea, Michigan is an amateur club of community members playing baseball by the rules of 1860.  We play for the love of the game, for exercise, social camaraderie and to provide a unique and affordable (FREE!) attraction here in town.  Our games are held throughout the summer — home games at Timbertown Park on Sibley Rd in Chelsea, away games throughout the state and country.  There is no charge to come enjoy one of our matches.  All are invited to come take in a unique and compelling glimpse of the origins of our nation’s pastime, come to life in a dynamic game played by your friends & neighbors.  We also hold weekly practices that are open to anyone (18+) interested in trying their hand at Civil War-era baseball.  On occasion, our sister club, the Merrimack (“Merries”) Base Ball Club also joins us out on the field.  For more information, you can contact captain “Honest Jon” Van Hoek at 248.930.6130 or chelseamonitorbbc@gmail.com.  We can also be found on Facebook:  www.facebook.com/ChelseaMonitors, and more info on our website:  www.chelseamonitors.com.  Huzzah!
