Youth Mental Health First Aid- Virtual Training

We are excited to offer a virtual session of Youth Mental Health First Aid on February 26th from 9am to 3pm, with breaks! This free course is designed to teach parents, family members, caregivers, teachers, etc. how to help adolescents (ages 12-18) who are experiencing mental health or addiction challenges.

The course introduces common mental health challenges for youth, reviews typical adolescent development and teaches a five-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations. Topics covered include anxiety, depression, substance use, disorders in which psychosis may occur, disruptive behavior disorders (including ADHD) and eating disorders.

This training is open to anyone in the St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea service area including: Chelsea, Dexter, Grass Lake, Manchester, and Stockbridge. The class time frame does include breaks.
