Hello, I’m Meghan, the summer Nutrition Intern for 5 Healthy Towns Foundation! I am currently a master’s dietetics student at Eastern Michigan University and have a bachelor’s in nutrition from McGill University. I am from a bit all over the place, but grew up just outside of Chicago. I’ve been cooking from a young age with my family and grew up actually wanting to be a pastry chef! I was diagnosed with food sensitivities and allergies in high school which opened my eyes to the role of nutrition in our health and led me to change course into nutrition and dietetics. I am passionate about sharing easy tips, recipes, and information about nutrition.
This summer, I will be at the different farmers markets talking about nutrition and will also be filming short videos for the 5HF social media page. Be on the lookout for videos about adding flavor with spices instead of salt, ways to flavor your drinks with fruit instead of sugar, twists on 4th of July party classics, beating the heat with DIY fruit popsicles, and making the most of seasonal produce from the farmers markets!
